THERAPIES
Reiki
Reiki (pronounce Ray Key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy and is a system of natural healing. The Reiki energy, when channelled through the practitioner, activates the natural healing ability which resides in each of us and works towards a state of balance. It is powerful yet gentle, and works only for the highest good, causing no harm. Reiki can promote healing on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Reiki is viewed as a complementary therapy and does not claim to cure any illness. It can promote relaxation, help with stress relief, improve sleeping, reduce pain, restore energy levels, and provide a sense of well-being.
During a Reiki session the receiver normally lays on a massage table (fully clothed) face up to begin with. The therapist will lay their hands gently on various non-intrusive parts of the body, or will work in the aura with the hands hovering 2-3 inches above the body. Reiki flows from the therapists hands to the client. Each hand position is held for a few minutes before changing to a new position. Everybody experiences Reiki differently. You may experience warmth, tingling, or coolness as the Reiki energy flows from the therapists hands, or experience visions such as colours, sounds, or pictures. Most people will sink into a peaceful state of relaxation as the energy allows one to release stress, tension, and worries etc.
Etheric Weavers
An Etheric Weaver is a Siberian Crystal (synthetic) that has two neodymium rare earth magnets on each side and is bound with wire (copper, silver, or gold). The Etheric Weaver is used by holding the end of the attached chain over the client (chakras or an area of pain or injury). It works similar to a pendulum, swinging and rotating as it is held from its chain, to naturally to bring the body back into a state of balance.
Crystals
Crystals have been used throughout time to heal and bring balance. Crystals work through resonance and vibration. Individual varieties of crystals have a unique internal structure which causes it to resonate at a certain frequency. This resonance is believed to give crystals their healing abilities. Crystals have the ability to absorb, store, project, and focus subtle energies. The piezoelectric effect (electricity produced by mechanical pressure on certain crystals) of quartz crystals has been used in computer chips, clocks and watches. In healing, crystals can be used to direct the flow of energy to bring about balance within one's energy field. During a healing session, crystals may be placed on the chakras, or around the body, or you may be given one to hold in each hand. Wand shaped crystals can be used to gentle massage areas such as the shoulders. Crystals can even be used to make up an elixir or spray. The use of crystals is not part of the traditional Reiki teachings, but many practitioners now combine the use of crystals into their Reiki practice to enhance treatments. Here you can also view my collection of crystal skulls, some of which have been energised and activated by the ancient Tibetan crystal skull Amar and the Mayan Blue Jade Skull Cana Ixim.
Sound
Sound can be a useful, powerful, and pleasant addition to an alternative healing practice. The range of sound frequencies emitted by Tingsha and Singing Bowls provide healing energies, balancing vibrations, and relaxation.
TINGSHA:
Tingsha are small cymbols joined together by leather cord. They are traditionally used for singing, chanting, rituals, and ceremonies by Tibetan Buddhist monks. When struck together, they produce a clear, pure, high pitched and long ringing tone. Tingsha are used to prepare for meditation, healing, space clearing, and sound therapy. They can be rung anytime one wants to achieve a calm and meditative state of the mind. You can view my own high quality Temple Tingsha by clicking on the "more" button.

SINGING BOWLS:
Traditionally, singing bowls were used in Tibetan Buddhist practice to signal the beginning and ending of meditation. Singing bowls are used for music, meditation, relaxation, and holistic healing. The sound and vibrations emanating from singing bowls are believed to be able to open, clear, and re-balance the chakras. They are played by running the mallet around the rim; the friction of the mallet rubbing around the rim produces overtones and a continuous "singing" sound. They can also be played by striking the mallet on the rim to produce a warm bell tone. High quality bowls can produce a complex chord of harmonic overtones. The newer singing bowls do not sound as mellow and peaceful as the antique bowls. The best sounding singing bowls are those that have been hand hammered.
